Compensation Range: $16 - 27 per hour

Job Description:

  • Liaison between the clinical, administration, nursing staff, and patients while maintaining an environment which provides safety, ethical practices. The Patient Care Technician will be required to effectively direct, monitor, assess and report patient behavior. Must be able to maintain a safe environment responding to a variety of changing situations and conditions. Always treat patients with respect, dignity, compassion and caring.


Responsibilities:

The duties listed below reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

  • Supervising patients at all times including their interactions with each other and during structured and/or unstructured activities.
  • Ensure adherence to program rules.
  • Ensures rooms are clean throughout the facility and assignments are completed properly and timely when working.
  • Assist in serving meals when needed.
  • Facilitates patients' daily needs per the program schedule.
  • Conducts property searches of clients as required.
  • Observes and monitors patients' behavior and interactions. Documentation in communication log.
  • Maintains awareness of patient schedules and personal time.
  • Conducts regular rounds, advising supervisor of any irregularities.
  • Assists in keeping grounds and facility safe and clean.
  • Ability to confront behavioral changes, identify a crisis, and recognize when additional assistance is necessary.
  • Ability to recognize personal recovery issues that have an impact on job performance and interactions with patients.
  • Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentially.
  • Becomes familiar with the Policy and Procedures. Consistency required in following our policies and procedures. Follow emergency procedures exactly (notification protocols, transportation, etc.) Follow exact directions given and document everything.
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural lifestyle diversities of patients and staff.
  • Attends all staff meetings, in-service trainings, and educational workshops
  • Use the established chain of command for any issue/emergency.
  • Ensure following of schedule set forth by Patient Care Supervisor.
  • Documentation of groups, shift activities, individual recovery aide notes, and /or pertinent information which may occur during shift.
  • Conduct self in a professional, courteous manner conducive to Brookdale's mission and vision.
  • Maintain the safety of facility and patients at all times.
  • Attends appointments and meetings with patients ensuring they behave in an appropriate manner.
  • Follow all established standards of practice for all admissions.
  • Positively promotes Brookdale to prospective clients, families and employees.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a minimum of High School degree, G.E.D. or knowledge of addiction and recovery.
  • Have a working knowledge of AA/NA philosophy as well as basic recovery principles.
