About the role

The company is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist us in creating strong relationships with suppliers and maintaining and continuing to strengthen existing ones. Responsibilities of the role will include sourcing goods, materials & services at competitive prices and formulating recommendations for senior management on which suppliers to formally on board and contract with for future supply to our business. Key to this role will be the ability to maintain and continually update the supplier database within internal systems and find alternative suppliers if existing ones are unable to meet our company’s expectations.


The ability to scrutinize existing procurement systems, vendor agreements, logistical arrangements, and workflow systems and pinpoint areas of inefficiency or opportunities for potential cost savings, will be a key to overall success in this role. In conjunction, being able to devise creative or alternative approaches to bundling procurement services or customizing orders for more favorable terms will provide a sound long-term value add to the overall business.


The majority of suppliers will be overseas, hence the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers where English may not be their first language is crucial. In order to be successful, you should be able to work across internal departments and ensure that costs remain within all budgeted constraints. Key to being a high-performing sourcing specialist will be the ability to develop & implement innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies.


  • Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with both new and existing suppliers
  • Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company
  • Obtaining quotes from different suppliers
  • Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Working with the legal to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation
  • Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns
  • Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes
  • Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced materials and services meet the needs of the business
  • Negotiate with external suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct problem resolution settle disputes, and develop win/win solutions that promote positive relations
  • Negotiate contracts to include pricing, terms, and lead times to optimize the total value of ownership
  • Ensure specifications align with quality sourcing and contracts
  • Develop business rules of engagement such as process maps, business processes and procedures, and other business-applicable process documentation



Ideal candidate

  • A bachelor’s degree in administration, logistics, supply chain, or a related field would be highly regarded
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, along with G suite of products including Gmail
  • A thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Sound people management skills as the sourcing team grows
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning
  • Has an eye for continuous improvement
  • A natural time manager with the ability to manage a robust pipeline and pay attention to detail
  • Can deploy adaptability and critical thinking
  • Proficiency in manipulating numerical data using spreadsheets
  • A customer-focused attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to run Procurement tenders & RFQs
  • Ability to build knowledge of the industry by monitoring and evaluating market dynamics and competitive conditions
  • Experience in (one or more) of the following industries is desirable: FMCG, Consumer Goods, FoodTech, Food, Agri-Tech
  • Candidates Speaking Chinese language will be preferred, Not mandatory

  • Minimum of 5 years experience of working in a similar role on multiple simultaneous projects
