About B2U Storage Solutions

B2U Storage Solutions builds large-scale energy storage using 2nd-life EV batteries. Our patented EV Pack Storage “EPS” projects are interconnected near load, allowing us to provide electricity and grid services when they’re needed most at a superior Levelized Cost of Storage (LCOS).

B2U was founded in 2019 by Freeman Hall and Mike Stern. B2U was spun off from Solar Electric Solutions (SES), where since 2008 SES had developed 100MW of solar PV across 11 projects.

Operational since May 2020, our Lancaster, CA facility now includes 17 MWh of storage; expansion to 28 MWh is underway. At this site, we’ve configured 1,000 EV Battery Packs to charge and discharge efficiently while accounting for state of health variance.
