Job Details

We are looking for a Data Engineer who will be a significant part of the healthcare technology company that provides a platform to support patients with complex medical needs.

The platform is designed to help patients better manage their health conditions and reduce hospitalizations and other costly interventions. Also, it includes a mobile app that allows patients to communicate with their care team, track their symptoms, and access educational resources. The platform also provides care teams with data analytics and tools to identify high-risk patients and proactively manage their care. 


Team size:  5 (tech lead full stack + 2 backend + DevOps + mobile)


Project technical stack:

  • Backend: Service-oriented with Java with Spring Boot and PostgreSQL
  • Frontend: Typescript with React / React Native.
  • Data & BI: Fivetran, Snowflake, Tableau
  • Infrastructure: ECS, RDS, Lambda, SQS, Kinesis, Cloudformation, and more
  • QA: Cypress for e2e and Detox for mobile


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and iterate on data extraction, loading, and transformation processes involving multiple different data source
  • Own client's Data Warehouse data model
  • Interact closely with stakeholders to determine analytics needs and translate those into efficient and scalable data processes


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on development experience in data engineering
  • Advanced SQL knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Python, Java, or any other modern languages
  • Has worked in a modern data warehouse (Snowflake + Tableau) before or has deep knowledge of how they work
  • Strong understanding of database schema design, caching, and scalability
  • Has worked in a CI/CD environment before and is used to using Git daily
  • Has worked directly in AWS (or a similar public cloud provider), standing up and maintaining infrastructure, ideally using an infrastructure-as-code solution
  • Experience owning data pipelines end-to-end
  • Writes understandable, testable code with an eye toward maintainability
  • Solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures and software design practices
  • Able to work autonomously and always has a vision of the big picture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ability to work in both international and multifunctional teams
