Company Description

We help holidaymakers love their journeys

We’re taking on climate change by building the first tech platform for flight-free holidays. We help people experience the joy of journeying through lesser-known parts of the UK and Europe by train, boat and bus, and are proud to be a certified B Corporation.

Founded in March 2020, we’re backed by Innovate UK, and have raised £1.2M from incredible investors. Our organic growth has been significant and sustained since launch, mostly thanks to press, from the Times to the Guardian. Since January 2022, our first paid marketing investments and partnerships have seen bookings surge to over £100k/month - well beyond this organic base.

Job Description

We’re looking for a customer-centric sales executive

We’re looking for an experienced sales executive to consult with customers on their flight-free holidays, creating trips they’ll fall in love with using our unique slow travel dynamic packaging technology and making the sales that are driving our current business growth.

As our Travel Experience Executive (Sales), you’ll nurture customer relationships long term so that we become a holiday partner for our customers for years to come. You’ll have a sales target (with uncapped commission) and work with our growth marketing team to increase referrals and repeat bookings from your customer base. You’ll have existing slow travel knowledge in several of our regions and will be a mentor and support for incoming travel experience interns. You’ll also be a business owner for our dynamic packaging technology, responsible for driving the technical innovation that will help you delight ever increasing numbers of customers by continuously reducing your manual workload.

Your key responsibilities

  • Create and sell trips our customers fall in love with, consistently achieving your revenue target
  • Research and build trips and custom itineraries using our dynamic packaging technology
  • Improve repeat booking and referral rates from your customers
  • Partner with our trip leads to maintain our five star review record
  • Introduce/advocate for processes/technologies/tools for further automation, and act as a business owner for technical developments
  • Mentor incoming operations interns

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • Great sales record including exceeding ambitious targets
  • An extraordinarily high level of ownership and accountability
  • Superb time management skills; ability to prioritise your time and leads
  • Belief in our mission and a passion for sustainability and slow travel
  • Strong feedback from customers (eg via reviews) and evidenced ability to delight them while prioritising margin
  • Strong slow travel knowledge with specific regional expertise and an ability to write creative and grammatically perfect travel copy
  • Proficiency working with spreadsheets and/or CRM software; good general technical understanding

What would be great (but isn’t required)

  • Experience working with CRMs and CMSs
  • Fluency/proficiency in French, Italian, Spanish and/or German

Additional Information

What we offer

  • £25,000 - £30,000 p.a. plus commission (£28,000-£35,000 OTE) depending on experience - London salary, but work from anywhere
  • Equity via our options scheme
  • Remote-first and flexible working (2 days/month in our London office - flight-free travel, please! At your own expense)
  • Exposure to many aspects of the business and the opportunity to specialise and take ownership of new areas as the business grows
