Naturecan is looking to bolster its finance team and is opening up an opportunity for an accounts assistant to join the business. The role is predominantly remote, however the candidate must be within the North West region to make a physical appearances.

The Role

Due to the growth of the business we are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join Naturecan's finance team, where you will be supported by a small team of qualified and part-qualified CIMA/ACA accountants and you will report directly to the Assistant Management Accountant.

A minimum of 6 months experience is required, from a similarly fast-paced environment, and you will be responsible for the day to day accounts payable and receivable functions, working predominantly with the Xero accounting software.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing multiple bank reconciliations
  • Posting Invoices
  • Ensuring marketing staff follow referencing procedures
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • PO vs invoiced vs what is delivered
  • Creating BACS run files
  • Communicating with suppliers
  • Inputting data of supplier purchase invoices
  • Monitoring Logistics emails
  • Primary contact for employee expense requests
  • Reconciliating customer receipts
  • Issuing credit notes
  • Raising B2B invoices
  • Ad hoc reporting

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience working in an Accounts Environment and/or strong interest in finance and accounting
  • Qualified/Part-Qualified in AAT (desirable but not mandatory)
  • An interest in pursuing an Accounting Qualification (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Sound knowledge of purchase ledger processes
  • Xero Accounting software experience (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Commercially minded and have an interest in eCommerce
  • Proactive Team-player with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance
  • High levels of data accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and trustworthy working in a remote environment
  • Have a positive, “can do” attitude and a desire to learn new tasks
