The Quality Engineer oversees the overall quality and safety of Four Sigmatic products, ensuring they meet the expectations of our customer, our brand, and all regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for both Quality Assurance and Quality Control and take pride in delivering Four Sigmatic’s brand promise through safe, premium quality products.


Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain Four Sigmatic’s Quality Management System
  • Lead the verification process for all ingredient suppliers
  • Lead the process for approving suppliers, co-manufacturers, and vendors
  • Manage all food safety activities, including the Food Safety Plan
  • Responsible for ensuring the company is in compliance with all quality & product safety regulatory requirements, including FSMA; Act as the company PCQI
  • Working with the Operations team, developing all raw and packaging material specifications and overseeing testing methods with suppliers to ensure quality and consistency
  • Perform root cause analyses, develop and manage the implementation of corrective action plans, on non-confirming ingredients or product
  • Conduct regular visits and audits of all suppliers, co-manufacturers, and vendors
  • Ensure product labels meet or exceed applicable labeling requirements, US & international
  • Create and manage processes and documentation of all quality activities
  • Advise the Customer Support team on responding to technical questions
  • Obtain and maintain all product certifications such as organic certification
  • Resolve any complaints, non-conformities, or other issues with co-manufacturers and suppliers


Requirements

  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in food & beverage or supplement products
  • Southern California preferred; Remote optional
  • Commitment to quality, driven by customer satisfaction
  • Proven ability to successfully draft and implement SOPs
  • Ability to apply high-level root-cause and problem-solving skills
  • Technologically savvy, including Microsoft Office and Google systems
  • Experience in process improvement projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations such as US FDA labeling laws and (highly desired) Canadian Food Regulations
