Job Details

We Got This Covered is looking for freelance writers who are available in the afternoon/evening of the PST time zone.

If you're the kind of person who scours celebrity Twitter accounts for hints about upcoming announcements, stays up to watch late-night talk shows, or advocates binge-watching entire series on a weekend, then this role is for you. You'll have the opportunity to write breaking news, opinion pieces, SEO articles, and more.

Interested candidates should have in-depth knowledge relating to the entertainment world ranging from TV & movies to celebrity news to video games. This is a great opportunity to cover the topics you already enjoy (and some you'll come to love) while working with a talented and passionate team. Applicants should be self-starters who are eager to learn and respond well to constructive criticism. We're a global, digital newsroom, and work will be remote.

Please provide a portfolio or writing examples to showcase your work:

While we're looking for people with broad knowledge and entertainment preferences, having expertise in one or more of the following subjects is definitely a bonus:

Responsibilities:

  • Help cover celebrity news with occasional movie/TV articles
  • Work with editors to develop pitches

  • Write a minimum of 20 stories per month

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience writing in the news industry
  • Knowledge of SEO practices
  • Evening availability

Compensation ranges from $16-90 per article.
