Description

This is a remote position.

We are currently working with an established proprietary trading firm based in New York that is seeking experienced C++ Linux software engineers to join their globally distributed team. You will be at the core of the business, working on all aspects of their trading system development in a collaborative development team. We are looking for software engineers who love to code, enjoy difficult challenges to solve, and don't mind the added bonus of having hard work rewarded through recognition and extremely competitive compensation.


Requirements

You should have:

  • C++ experience is required, daily use (of most recent standards) preferred, at least 5 years in a professional setting
  • Recent (within the past 5 years) experience as a trading system developer within a High Frequency Trading firm
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in an analytical or quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Statistics, Computational Finance, or similar)
  • Excellent design, debugging and problem solving skills
  • Experience with latency optimization
  • Deep knowledge of the Linux operating system, system/processor performance, and network communication
  • Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Can describe software designs at a high level (the abstract interface), low level (step-by-step algorithm), or anywhere in between
  • A collaborative approach to research, development and optimisation
