About Strategic Paralegal Services:

Strategic Paralegal Services is a Massachusetts company founded by Joanne Wolforth to provide virtual paralegal support to law firms and sole practitioners across the continental United States.

After 20 years of working as a highly-skilled corporate paralegal, Joanne decided it was time for a change and decided to work independently. She realized that in order to service her clients at the highest level of expediency and efficiency, she needed a team to meet the ongoing demand. Strategic Paralegal Services was organized on the belief that all attorneys, regardless of location, deserve access to highly skilled and responsive assistance when they need it.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a highly skilled and trained corporate paralegal to partner with Strategic Paralegal Services as an independent contractor. This person will have a strong “why” in their choice for wanting to be an independent paralegal.

We are excited for someone that takes incredible pride in their profession and has immaculate attention to detail to showcase that. This person will be allotted autonomy as an independent contractor, but we are seeking someone that is dependable and committed to this role.

  • Contract drafting, review and administration
  • Audit and abstract all types of contracts and agreements
  • Organize and manage an electronic data room
  • Frame, order, review and chart lien and litigation searches; preparation and filing of UCCs; preparation of Promissory Notes and Security Agreements; error-free filing of UCC Financing Statements or Amendments in any jurisdiction
  • Other general paralegal tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Highly competent in using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; proficient and comfortable with cloud computing (Dropbox, Box, Google Docs, Sharepoint)
  • Experience and comfort with entity management and capitalization table management software (e.g. Carta and Shoobx), experience with contracts management software a plus
  • Nonprofit, real estate, securities or intellectual property experience a plus

Core Competencies:

  • Responsive: Diligent in confirming receipt of messages or e-mails; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ensure no deadline will ever be missed because of you. You have a strong internal and external client focus.
  • Invested: You thrive in your role and care about being a valuable contributing partner in everything you do. You have a desire to take ownership of a matter and take pride in the outcome.
  • Reliable: Your work meets the highest professional standards, for example, you have the ability to consistently deliver error-free work under pressure and manage multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
  • Proactive: You don't wait to be told what's next. You're already planning for the next two steps. You understand the bigger picture of a particular task (and ask questions as needed); you add value by driving the process in an effective and cost-efficient manner
  • Personal Interaction: You're professional and friendly when completing the most mundane task as well as in high-volume, high-pressure situations. You're able to self-manage and prioritize multiple projects and organize results that are helpful so there's no question about what or whether something has been completed.
