About the role

As a Financial Accountant, you will be reporting to the FP&A Manager. Your responsibilities will include preparing timely, accurate monthly management accounts and other appropriate financial information for the FP&A Manager to present to the executive committee. You will take responsibility for the economic control of commercial operations within the business by managing the day-to-day activities. You may also be required to work closely with various other key stakeholders of the senior management team on ad hoc projects. You will work closely with the external tax accountants to ensure the correct recording of GST.


  • Ensure that all vendor invoices and employee expenses are approved by the company’s purchasing policy and the company Authorization Matrix
  • Collaborate with operational teams as needed to address customer billing inquiries
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to generate accurate financial reports, including data input, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and financial report preparation
  • Guarantee compliance with relevant local tax, accounting, auditing, and external reporting requirements
  • Proactively manage your workflow, taking ownership for accurately completing your tasks, adhering to guidelines and procedures, and continuously seeking improvement in work processes
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and legal counsel
  • Assist with calculating channel partner commissions
  • Support premium breakdown reconciliations and conduct reviews



Ideal candidate

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, demonstrating proficiency in financial management and reporting
  • Exceptional time management skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tasks
  • Up-to-date technical skills in accounting software and systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with medium to advanced skills enabling effective data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to collaborate closely with external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and ensuring smooth communication channels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for engaging with business partners and ensuring adherence to established processes
  • Confidence to challenge senior opinions when necessary, while maintaining a constructive and positive working relationship
