Job Title: Azure DevOps Engineer

Reporting to: Head of Cloud Engineering

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: National – Split between on site and home working as required.

Travel: Dependent on project requirements (current arrangements are remote working, but you need to be able to travel & co-locate with customers if required)


Methods is looking for someone with a background in infrastructure, cloud Engineering, automation of pipelines, systems operations / administration to work as an Azure DevOps Engineer in a customer-facing support role. We are a broad team of skilled DevOps Engineers (SRE) and Cloud Support Engineers across multiple clouds. In this role you will have the opportunity to cross-skill in AWS and Google Cloud as well as pick up new cloud engineering technologies.

Requirements

  • Design, implementation, and support of Microsoft Azure Cloud environment with experience in complex application and workload migration to Azure
  • Azure Landing Zone design and implementation following Microsoft best practices based on the Hub and Spoke topology
  • Azure Environments including VNETs, Azure Firewall, NSGs, ASGs UDRs Load Balancers, Application Gateways, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Traffic Manager, Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute, App Service Environments other Azure PaaS components and IaaS windows and Linux VMs, Azure Management Groups
  • Azure DevOps is the primary CI/CD tooling and experience here is essential
  • The environment is Linux based. Linux system admin skills are essential.
  • AKS / Kubernetes experience is a necessity. Any experience with ISTIO is advantageous
  • Understanding of Java development process and Java based Pipelines
  • Hands on experience in creating Azure Subscriptions, Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, Tagging Policy, Naming Convention and deploying using Terraform
  • DevSecOps experience, having implemented Microsoft Cloud App Security, Azure Security Centre, Microsoft Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Defender Advance Threat Protection, Azure Key Vault, Cloud native PIM/PAM
  • Experience in COTS and Cloud native product evaluation for Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Experience in designing and implementing RBAC with Azure Policies and Management Groups
  • Extensive experience with DevOps Tooling, Packer, Terraform, TerraTest, Git (Multiple flavours), CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Packer, Docker, etc
