Remote | Full time | Immediate start

£25k-£32k dependant on experience

We are looking for a Junior / Mid level UX UI Designer to join our team at Nova.

The Role

You will be responsible for creating end-to-end experience design working closely with Founders and a team of Nova experts to build innovative products and solutions across multiple channels and platforms.


In a fast paced environment you’ll champion design thinking and the combined expertise of the design team to maximise impact and minimise waste through lean design delivery.


You will have strong collaboration skills, a passion for problem-solving and working confidently across the design spectrum in UX, UI, product design and brand.


With an insight based approach you will help identify opportunities, quickly validate ideas, and iterating often to transform user experience on the journey from idea to MVP and beyond.


Responsibilities include

  • Translating business and user goals / requirements
  • Working iteratively, collaborating closely with various project teams and Founders in order to define problems and goals
  • Producing UX design deliverables including personas, user journeys, information architecture and wireframes
  • Visualising and prototyping concepts to varying levels of fidelity to demonstrate and validate ideas
  • Communicating your design decisions and process to the team, taking them on the journey and iterating based on feedback
  • Participating workshops and interpreting research findings to reveal opportunities and create solutions that provide the biggest impact
  • Working with a cross-discipline team of product designers, engineers and delivery managers to ensure delivery of solutions created to specification ready for QA, experiments and release
  • Developing unique and suitable brands, to help businesses stand out from their competition and connect with their audiences
  • Showcasing startups through tactical marketing activity across web, digital and printed media
  • Supporting in-house brand comms design and evolution


The person

The ideal candidate for this role would be a passionate, creative problem solver with solid experience across the design spectrum in product design, brand and communication.


Core skill and experience requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant design experience (UX/UI, Interaction, Visual, Product)
  • An online portfolio of recent work demonstrating your approach and cross-platform design experience (Web, Android, iOS and responsive web)
  • Knowledge of user-centred design principles, UI patterns, accessibility standards and inclusive design
  • Experience in UX / UI tools such as Figma, XD, Creative Cloud and Miro
  • Comfortable working and contributing to design systems
  • Understand how to use data insights and usability testing to create effective experiences
  • A keen collaborator with good communication skills with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Self-aware and encourage feedback on your work
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and are able to pivot and execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised and self-motivated and comfortable working independently/remotely
  • A desire for delivering impact, continuously working to improve products, process and helping the team to do deliver their best


Desirable

  • Experience working with early stage tech startups
  • Experience working remotely with teams in other locations
  • Experience working within an Agile process
  • Appreciation of front-end build and development process
