Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer Intern to assist our data engineering team in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with data lake or data warehouse technologies, and will be proficient in Java programming.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the data engineering team to design, develop, and maintain our data infrastructure;
• Develop data pipelines and ETL processes to efficiently extract, transform, and load data into our data lake or data warehouse;
• Work with large datasets, databases, and data streams to ensure data quality, integrity, and security;
• Use Java programming to build scalable and maintainable data applications;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is properly integrated and utilized throughout the organization;
• Help with data modeling and optimization to improve system performance and efficiency;
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality data products.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field;
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles;
• Experience with Java programming, including Java-based projects and frameworks;
• Familiarity with data lake or data warehouse technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or AWS S3;
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems;
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Good communication and teamwork skills;
• Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
