• Work with software/computing science focussed clients to help determine if the nature of their technical work meets the requirements of Canada’s R&D tax credits program (SR&ED - scientific research and experimental development). 
• Based on the data you’d collect, you will write a short (2 pages) but technically detailed report that would succinctly capture the essence of the client's project and why/how it qualifies under the SR&ED program.
• Self-reading of technical material (from various sources) to self-educate on a variety of technical topics and matters (in most cases such topics will directly be related to the technology stack of the clients you are working with).
• Self-reading of technical material on technical topics in general, and especially for highly popular and hot technical topics of current times (such as AI and blockchain) so that you are always up to date regarding what are the latest developments happening in the technical world.

• Software development experience 
• Technical writing experience (for example, patent writing) 
• Client interaction experience in a consulting environment 
• 5 years relevant work experience 

SR&ED is one of the most well-defined and financially rewarding R&D tax credit programs globally, often serving as a model for similar incentives in other countries. Computing and software-centric businesses, constantly pushing the limits of science through new products and feature releases, are ideal candidates for these tax credits.
