About the Role

We are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer with proven experience and a passion for selling technology solutions to a wide range of customers. Working collaboratively with Soracom R&D teams, you will be responsible for selling to new prospects as well as engaging with existing customers to support our sales team in closing deals and expanding customer usage of our advanced technology services. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, up-selling, cross-selling, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall sales team and business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute solution selling sales development campaigns and deals closure into new and existing accounts
  • Drive sales with technical expertise, sales ability, account management skills, and exceptional customer focus
  • Engage on conference calls with Account Managers and prospective clients, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Soracom IoT Platform & Connectivity offering, connect potential and existing customers to relevant Soracom services
  • Create & deliver technical product & support presentations for external partners and customers
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition of our technology
  • Manage all technical aspects of PQQ / RFP / RFI responses
  • Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers' met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value
  • Deep-dive into our IoT technology platform and setup demo and test environments supporting the successful closure of opportunities and onboarding of new customers
  • Coordinates closely with internal sales leadership, advanced engineering, product management, & service resources to align solution design with customer’s business requirements
  • Pursue business development opportunities to align with the company’s global business objectives and profit margin goals
  • Provides coaching and professional development to team-member sales associates to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, & best practices


Key Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven work experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer
  • Proven track record successfully of selling complex B2B SaaS solutions
  • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Solid technical background with understanding and hands-on experience in networking, cloud and software development
  • A passion for technology, as a smart creative you thrive to constantly learn and challenge your technical skills
  • Excellent presentation and creativity skills
  • Willingness to travel

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Experience working remotely in a multicultural environment
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in the IoT ecosystem
  • Experience with the development of both software and hardware solutions
