The Account Director role is critical to the overall success and health of our client relationships. We are looking for an experienced leader who is well-versed in client success, team management, and driving revenue through opportunity identification and pursuit.
You will lead accounts consisting of 1-4 clients with a total value of $2M+ in revenue. You have highly developed relationship management, communication, and advisory skills. You will lead the development and presentation of strategic marketing recommendations for enterprise clients. You thrive in a fasted paced environment but understand how to calmly handle challenging situations. You take ownership of your accounts, your career, and the team’s success. And you’re willing to be bold, bring new ideas, meet new people, and be a strategic leader to your clients.
Requirements
Client Leadership
- Be a strategic advisor to our clients and team by providing a strong POV on how to achieve outlined business goals.
- Attain a deep understanding of the client’s business and objectives.
- Build and grow strong relationships with our most valued clients and partners.
- Ensure all campaigns, programs, and projects are aligned with business goals and are being delivered according to expectations.
- Research and share strategic insights with clients.
- Develop proposals and statements of work in conjunction with agency team members.
- Lead clients and teams through annual and quarterly planning.
- Promptly address any client satisfaction issues.
- Represent the agency at industry functions and promote the agency.
- Proactively manage account financials ensuring overall account health, appropriate team allocation, and agency compensation.
- Regularly inform Leadership Team of account wins, losses, successes, and failures.
- Experience managing clients who have a heavy Media concentration. Understand the channels, tactics, and reporting for media.
Strategy and Growth
- Develop strategic, measurable campaigns and programs that produce results.
- Provide leadership and insights during strategy, ideation, and campaign execution.
- Meet with internal teams and clients regularly to review campaign progress and performance.
- Seek opportunities to expand the relationships and business within assigned accounts.
- Review and analyze past campaign results to uncover opportunities for improvement.
- Research, review, and synthesize insights for use in briefs, reports, and presentations.
- Stay on top of industry trends, innovations, and challenges.
- Seek opportunities for professional growth.
- Proactively manage account plans.
Team Management
- Mentorship and management of account team members.
- Team goal setting and tracking to manage performance.
- Identify growth and training opportunities for team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with direct reports.
Operations and Financials
- Negotiation and development of Statements of Work with clients.
- Provide accurate financial forecasts and financial transparency for clients.
- Initiate invoicing and reconciliation of budgets.
- Participate in the client satisfaction program.
- Produce case studies, client testimonials, and award submissions.
Key Experience or Skills:
- 8+ years’ experience working agency and/or client-side within a marketing leadership role
- Demonstrable experience solving complex B2B marketing challenges
- Experience in managing key client and partner relationships and comfortable communicating at C-Level both internally and externally
- Experience in developing marketing programs based on client/business objectives, and recommending marketing solutions to business challenges
- Experience managing clients who have a heavy Media concentration. Understand the channels, tactics, and reporting for media
