Job Description

We are looking for an awesome Software Engineer with Infrastructure experience. This position reports to the Director of Platform.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Tourmaline Lab's platform. You will have a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions concerning the core infrastructure of the company. Your role is to oversee and maintain system stability, optimize and reduce operational costs, enhance security, modernize services, and ensure system scalability.

We are looking for engineers who bring experience and fresh ideas from a variety of fields, in particular large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, and artificial intelligence. With your technical expertise you will manage infrastructure priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Additionally, we are looking for engineers who are versatile, enjoy staying current on leading-edge technology and tools, and possess an enthusiasm for taking on new challenges as we push our company forward.

Specific Responsibilities

• Help ensure uptime and reliability across Tourmaline Lab's suite of products and services
• Apply your deep technical expertise to solve cloud-based solutions at scale
• Manage and upgrade our AWS infrastructure without downtime
• Automate a variety of engineering-related tasks and processes
• Assist in larger projects or run smaller opportunities independently

Candidate Attributes

Candidate Requirements

• Strong technical background and 3+ years of professional engineering experience
• Experience maintaining and scaling cloud infrastructure (AWS experience preferred)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using CloudFormation, Terraform or other tools
• Experience with Docker
• Experience developing cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools, CodeBuild, Github Actions, etc
• Advanced knowledge of modern DevOps practices (e.g., GitOps, CI/CD pipelines)
• Sound knowledge of networking and Linux internals
• Confident in a unix/linux environment and maneuvering on the command line
• Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewall
