Job Details

Webflow is a visual web development platform that empowers non-coders to create incredible experiences for the web.

We're looking for a Backend Engineer, DevOps to work on the next generation web publishing platform and help us democratize software development. You'll be part of a team that builds thrilling user experiences with the latest web technologies: React, Flux architecture, CSS-in-JS, ES2015+, Cypress.io, Jest, and Flow. Webflow empowers hundreds of thousands of people and we need your expertise to make us even better.

About the role:

  • Location: San Francisco HQ, US Remote, or ON/BC, Canada
  • Full-time

As a Backend Engineer, DevOps, you'll:

  • Join our Developer Experience team, which is responsible for the Continuous Integration system that allows our engineers to build and test the main Webflow application
  • Build developer tooling that supports and enhances the productivity and day-to-day efforts of your fellow engineers
  • Work with other teams in the Infrastructure group to ensure consistency and performance across environments and improve the process of getting code from local development to production
  • Work in an agile, safe-to-fail-but-always-learn environment, and hunger for growth opportunities

That said, these responsibilities are just the start! At Webflow, we encourage you to contribute wherever your interests take you — and shape your role accordingly.

About you

You'll thrive as a Backend Engineer, DevOps, if you have:

  • Built and maintained Continuous Integration pipelines and systems
  • Experience with container-centric architectures, built with Docker and tools like Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS, OpenShift, etc.), ECS, Docker Swarm, or Mesos
  • Experience or interest in contributing to full-stack applications built using React, Node, and MongoDB
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and guiding less-experienced engineers
  • Previous experience as an engineer on a product or infrastructure team
  • Experience with code coverage and test metric tools, understands their limitations and strengths, and are familiar with one or more of them (we use CodeClimate and internally-built test metric dashboards).
  • Experience with testing, test frameworks, test automation, and the work necessary to build and maintain tooling to make testing easier

It would be a bonus if you had one of the following:

  • Experience working in a distributed team, especially across international time zones
  • Experience with performance and/or load testing concepts and tools
  • Have a cursory knowledge of object oriented and functional programming paradigms, GraphQL, and JavaScript runtime performance optimization

If you don't meet 100% of the above requirements, you should still seriously consider applying. Studies show that you can still be considered for a job if you meet just 50% of the role's requirements!

Webflow requires all new employees to submit proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status as a condition of their employment. As such, your failure to timely provide such information, upon Webflow's request, may result in the revocation of your offer or the termination of your employment with Webflow, as applicable.
