Wowza Media Systems is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to lead one of our teams. We are expanding our software development team and seeking someone to help us drive the streaming revolution. Wowza is looking for an individual who can help us enable streaming video and audio to any device, anywhere!

As a Lead DevOps Engineer for Wowza, you will be reporting to the VP of Engineering and join a team building the infrastructure that powers the end users' experience. Through your contributions, you will be empowering a community of builders creating video-enabled solutions. As a team member, you will bring expertise that enables a seamless deployment and reliability experience that meets the customer's needs.

The ideal candidate is an experienced DevOps Engineer with excellent communication skills who can lead and mentor a team. This person must be located in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States.


What you will do:

Create – Work collaboratively to deliver new features and capabilities on a foundational platform. Architect and build quality, maintainable and extensible infrastructure that perform at scale.

Innovate –Keep pace with emerging standards in infrastructure as code, Kubernetes and work on greenfield development. Your ideas are valued, you can impact the product roadmap, and you might even file patents.

Improve – Help define and refine CI/CD best practices, actively participate in design and code reviews, and improve the infrastructure code with every commit.

Learn –Our Product does a lot, our product is complex, the domain is deep, and the industry is ever-changing. There is always something new to learn, something we hope you will embrace.

Support –We stand ready to back our Support organization in helping our customers through their toughest challenges and capturing ways to improve our products.

Lead – Serve as a subject matter expert in CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and providing technical leadership within the team, the company, and the industry as a 50/50 player and coach.

The experience we would love for you to have:

● Five years of Terraform and/or CloudFormation SDK

● Familiarity with build automation and continuous integration

● Strong experience in Kubernetes

● Experience creating and documenting Site Reliability practices.

● Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and associated tools

● Experience in AWS, especially PaaS services to accelerate development

● Ability to lead, mentor and develop a talented DevOps team

  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule


Benefits

Salary: $160,000-$220,000

  • Bonus Eligible

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of our salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
