Data Analyst Job Description

Role
A data analyst provides insights from the available data so that organizations may make better business decisions. They are responsible for compiling and arranging data from various sources, conducting statistical analyses, and conveying conclusions in an understandable and unbiased manner.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining databases, data systems – fixing errors and other data centered problems
- Performing processing and validation on the data subject to analyze and assess its quality
- Utilizing statistical methods to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in large, complicated data sets that may be useful for the diagnosis
- Examining local, national, and international trends that have an impact on the business and the sector
- Helping the data warehouse produce reports, research and insights that improve overall business performance
- Troubleshooting the reports and reporting database environment
- Provide analytical consultation, predictive modeling and solutions to achieve business
- Communicate and articulate insights to key stakeholders through data visualization and presentations that can be consumed by technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements
- Minimum of X years of work experience as a data analyst or related field
- Proven experience in handling complex data sets managing large scale databases
- Possess strong knowledge of languages like SQL, Python, R, MATLAB
- Experience with visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Google Data Studio)
- Ability to evaluate current tools and databases and offer software solutions
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS
