Role

A Legal counsel is a specialist who makes sure that their business complies with the law. They offer guidance and keep an eye on all pertinent areas of it to make sure their company adheres to the legal and correct methods in every way. This role requires a broad-based provision of legal support and expertise in international business transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Defining internal governance guidelines and routinely checking compliance
  • Providing accurate and timely advice on a range of legal topics to executives such as partnerships, labor laws, international business and other corporate activities
  • Drafting of various legal documents, including statements, agreements, and contracts
  • Perform or support due diligence on proposed transactions
  • Following the steps necessary to protect your industrial designs, trademarks, and patents
  • Investigating and assess various risks that may affect corporate operations and choices
  • Providing proactive guidance on best practices, processes, templates, clauses and playbooks
  • Establishing trusting relationships through communication and negotiation with other parties (regulators, outside counsel, public authorities, etc.)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Legal Counsel or equivalent
  • Deep knowledge of corporate laws and procedures
  • Complete knowledge of a corporation's external environment
  • Experience in global business contracting, expertise in Litigation, complaints/disputes and employment matter
  • Demonstrated aptitude for developing legal defensive or preventative tactics
  • Familiarity with global privacy laws and GDPR

Soft Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to judge and analyse situations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity

Bonus

  • Experience of working as a Legal Counsel preferably in an international environment or a multinational company

Senior Counsellor/ Legal Manager, Legal Director, VP of Legal Affairs, Chief Legal Officer

Salary Range (in USD)

$84,000 - $200,000 per year

Qualifications

  • Degree in Law from an accredited university
  • Admitted as a qualified lawyer in India
  • MA in relevant field will be advantageous
