Responsibilities

  • You will assist healthcare professionals in performing various medical procedures, such as taking vitals, administering medications, and collecting lab specimens
  • A Medical Assistant's duties and responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients, verifying their personal and insurance information, and ensuring a smooth intake process
  • It will be your responsibility as a Medical Assistant to assist patients with mobility and transfer them if needed. Further, you will be offering patient education on chronic disease management, wound care, or other health-related topics
  • We expect you to accurately document patient information, including medical histories, symptoms, and treatments provided during appointments
  • It will be your responsibility as a Medical Assistant to schedule and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time and resources
  • Apart from assisting physicians during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments., you will also be conducting basic medical procedures or tests, such as electrocardiograms (EKGs) or eye exams
  • You will maintain and organize medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal regulations
  • As a Medical Assistant, we expect you to communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions regarding medications, tests, and follow-up care
  • You shall prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and stock supplies to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
  • Your duties and responsibilities as a Medical Assistant include administering medications, vaccines, and injections as directed by physicians and in compliance with legal regulations
  • Your duty as a Medical Assistant will be to handle administrative tasks, such as making and answering phones, updating patient insurance information, and processing billing documents
  • We expect you to stay updated on medical best practices and attend trainings to enhance your knowledge and skills in the healthcare field
  • One of your major responsibilities as a Medical Assistant is to assist with patient check-out, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing necessary documentation
  • You must ensure that patient information is handled in compliance and regulation with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

  • You must have robust communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
  • You should be proficient in medical terminology to accurately document patient information and assist with medical procedures
  • You must possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain accurate patient records
  • You should demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients, providing them with emotional support during their medical visits
  • You must be knowledgeable about infection control protocols and practices to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff
  • You should have the ability to perform basic clinical procedures such as taking vitals, administering medications, and preparing patients for examinations
  • We expect you to have proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other medical software for administrative tasks and patient information management
  • You must be able to work collaboratively within a team-based healthcare setting, supporting and assisting other medical professionals when needed
  • You should have good problem-solving skills to quickly identify issues and find solutions to provide optimal patient care
  • You should have knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and other healthcare regulations regarding patient privacy and information handling
  • To stay current in the field, you should engage in ongoing education and training, especially in areas such as medical technology and healthcare regulations

Salary Range (in USD)

$31,227 to $46,369 per year (Talent.com)

Qualifications

  • A General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • A diploma or a two-year associate's degree in medical assisting
  • Having a certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
